Gabby Herzig is a rising star in golf journalism, currently serving as a Golf Staff Writer for The Athletic. Her passion for the sport began at age six, introduced by her grandparents, avid golfers themselves. Growing up in Manhattan, Gabby balanced city life with her love for golf, competing in junior tournaments and playing on her high school team.
She attended Pomona College, majoring in Politics with a minor in Classics while also playing on the college golf team. A highlight of her college experience was a semester abroad in Scotland, where she immersed herself in the birthplace of golf and played on the University of Edinburgh club team.
Gabby gained valuable experience through internships, including a digital editorial role at NBC Sports and an internship at Golf Digest during her senior year. Now at The Athletic, she covers a wide range of golf topics, blending her knowledge of the sport with her academic background to provide insightful analysis.Outside of work, Gabby remains an active golfer and shares her love for the game on social media.
