On June 20th, the Home of the PGA of America in Frisco
set the stage for the Northern Texas PGA Women & Girls Golf Summit, presented by A. PUTNAM, during the prestigious KPMG Women’s PGA Championship. This gathering brought together 60 women professionals and high school girl golfers, fostering genuine dialogue, mentorship, and a deeper look at the diverse roles women play in golf.
A Meaningful Setting: Fields Ranch East and Trish Holt’s Leadership
This year’s summit carried special significance, hosted at Fields Ranch East; an acclaimed new course that is quickly becoming a cornerstone for championship golf. The event led by Trish Holt, PGA Head Professional at Fields Ranch and a Frisco native. Holt’s leadership underscores the summit’s importance: she not only manages the operations at this world-class facility but also represents a new era of women shaping golf from the heart of the industry. As Holt noted, “It’s an incredible opportunity for the PGA of America, Omni PGA Frisco Resort & Spa, and the Frisco community to host the best women golfers in the world, as well as promote the game and the growth of women’s golf in our backyard”.
Fields Ranch East is more than a tournament venue, it’s a symbol of golf’s evolving landscape. Designed by Gil Hanse to honor Texas’s ranching heritage and golf’s traditions, the course will continue to host major championships, including the PGA Championship in 2027 and additional KPMG Women’s PGA Championships through 2034. For the summit’s attendees, this was a rare opportunity to experience a championship environment at the epicenter of American golf.
Panel Discussion: Diverse Journeys and New Possibilities
The summit’s panel featured:
- Trish Holt, PGA Head Professional at Fields Ranch
- Ali Putnam, founder of A. PUTNAM
- Susan Bond, PGA Member and women’s initiatives leader for PGA Magazine
- Tiffany Roth, former NTPGA junior tour player and Apple team member
- Moe Robinson, GCSAA superintendent and Women in Turf leader
Panelists shared personal stories of entering the golf industry, the mentors who shaped their paths, and advice for high school girls considering golf as a career or lifelong passion. The message was clear: golf offers a spectrum of opportunities, from entrepreneurship and coaching to operations and agronomy.

A. PUTNAM and the Northern Texas PGA: A Shared Vision
A. PUTNAM’s partnership with the Northern Texas PGA is rooted in a mutual commitment to advancing women’s participation in golf. As detailed in A. PUTNAM’s recent blog, this collaboration is about more than sponsorship, it’s about building a culture where women and girls feel seen, supported, and empowered to pursue their ambitions. Ali Putnam’s own journey, from business woman, mother, to founder of a purpose-driven brand, exemplifies the summit’s message: golf can be a platform for leadership, creativity, and community.
Ali captured the spirit of the summit, reflecting,
“It was truly incredible to sit alongside a group of such accomplished women that have a true passion for supporting the growth of women’s involvement in golf. The energy and love for the sport is so contagious.”
Tiffany Roth echoed this sentiment, emphasizing the power of collective inspiration:
“Being one of five on the panel alongside such remarkable women, each sharing their unique journeys, reminded me just how powerful it is to uplift and inspire the next generation. The best years are yet to come, and I can’t wait to see all that these incredible young women will achieve.”
Kelly Gilly, Director of Northern Texas PGA shared:
"Thank you for sharing your journey at our event! You made a big impact and your support of our women’s initiatives means the world to me!"
Behind the Scenes: A Closer Look at Championship Golf
After the panel, attendees embarked on an immersive behind-the-scenes tour of PGA Frisco. The high school girls explored the inner workings of a major championship, including visits to the media center, the PGA Teaching & Coaching Center powered by T-Mobile, and Volunteer Headquarters. They also had the chance to experience the “Dance Floor”—a sprawling two-acre putting green at the heart of the action. These experiences offered a rare perspective on tournament operations, media, coaching, and the many careers that contribute to the success of a global sporting event.
Looking Forward
The Northern Texas PGA Women & Girls Golf Summit, in partnership with A. PUTNAM, was a morning defined by honest conversation, shared vision, and the celebration of possibility. With Fields Ranch East and Trish Holt at the center, the summit highlighted how leadership, community, and a willingness to open doors for others are shaping the future of women’s golf. As the event concluded and attendees watched the championship unfold, the message resonated: the future of women’s golf is being shaped right here, in Frisco, by those committed to making the game more welcoming and dynamic for all.
Special thanks to all the panelists, organizers, and attendees for making this event a resounding success. The energy, wisdom, and camaraderie shared will continue to inspire long after the final putt drops.
